Senior Manager, API Production

About the role

Sun Pharma is seeking a Senior Manager to lead API production operations. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and ensuring the efficient execution of manufacturing campaigns while maintaining the highest quality and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily production activities, ensuring availability of resources such as BMR, raw materials, and manpower.
• Liaise with QC, QA, Store, and Engineering departments to resolve troubleshooting issues.
• Implement and monitor GMP standards across the plant.
• Introduce and scale up technology transfers for new products.
• Continuously monitor and improve process efficiency, service levels, and product quality.
• Prepare monthly reports, process trend analyses, and root‑cause investigations.
• Manage consumables, raw‑material planning, and waste handling (solvents, solid waste).
• Oversee process and cleaning validation activities where applicable.
• Review and revise BMRs and SOPs, ensuring documentation compliance.
• Operate electronic systems (ONE HR portal, Metis Trackwise, Minitab, Outlook) and ensure preventive maintenance of plant equipment.
• Provide training to subordinates and support SAP HANA activities for manufacturing.

Required profile

• 19–25 years of relevant experience in API or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven ability to lead large production teams and manage cross‑functional collaborations.
• Strong understanding of GMP, process validation, and technology transfer.
