Senior Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Senior Security Engineer to join Egis’ port and terminal operations team in Kuwait. The role focuses on designing, implementing and managing comprehensive security systems that protect facilities, personnel and assets while ensuring compliance with international maritime standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain integrated security systems, including access control, CCTV and monitoring infrastructure across port and terminal sites.
• Conduct thorough security risk assessments and threat analyses, recommending mitigation measures.
• Develop, enforce and update security policies, procedures and protocols in line with the ISPS Code and other maritime regulations.
• Lead incident response activities, investigate breaches and produce detailed reports.
• Supervise and train security personnel, overseeing performance and daily operations.
• Monitor operations through CCTV, alarm and other surveillance technologies.
• Perform regular security audits to verify regulatory compliance and best‑practice adherence.
• Coordinate with port management, law‑enforcement and external security agencies.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, logs and records for audit purposes.
• Manage security budgets and procurement of equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security engineering within port, terminal or maritime environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and devise mitigation strategies.
• In‑depth knowledge of the ISPS Code and international maritime security standards.
• Leadership skills to manage teams and collaborate with external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
