About the role
The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) will support the TF SAFE project, providing safety oversight for electrical inspection, repair, and construction activities across US Army facilities in the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility. Reporting to the TF SAFE Project Manager, the SSHO ensures compliance with federal, industry, and client safety regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and manage the safety program in line with EM 385-1-1 and the TF SAFE Accident Prevention Plan.
- Conduct regular safety audits, daily toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
- Develop and maintain training manuals, records of training activities, and loss‑time accident reports.
- Interface between the client and contractor teams to promote safety best practices.
- Assist in creating Activity Hazard Analyses and support all components of the Accident Prevention Program.
Required profile
- Minimum five years of experience managing safety programs for 20+ personnel under USACE contracts.
- Qualified according to EM 385-1-1 Section 1‑3.
- Completed 30‑hour OSHA General Industry or Construction safety training.
- Completed 24 hours of documented safety training every three years or equivalent.
- Strong computer proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, Project, and Word.
