Stewarding Team Lead

About the role

Calo is seeking a Stewarding Team Lead to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient back‑of‑house environment for its production operations in Kuwait. The role combines hands‑on supervision with staff development to uphold the highest standards of hygiene and service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise stewards, dishwashers, and kitchen utility staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchens, food‑preparation areas, dishwashing stations, storage rooms, and other back‑of‑house facilities.
• Monitor proper cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, glassware, and silverware.
• Control inventory and par‑stock levels for operating equipment and cleaning supplies.
• Coordinate with chefs, banquet teams, restaurants, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Enforce food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and workplace safety standards.
• Train, coach, and evaluate stewarding staff performance.
• Manage shift schedules, attendance, and daily task assignments.
• Control breakage, losses, and operational costs.
• Assist the Stewarding Manager and act on their behalf when required.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Tourism or a related field (preferred).
• Typically 2–3 years of experience in hotel or hospitality operations, with prior stewarding supervisory experience preferred.
• Good English and Hindi communication skills.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HACCP and sanitation procedures.
• Familiarity with proper use, storage, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Inventory management and stock control.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, machinery, and tools.
