Senior Landscape Architect

About the role

The Senior Landscape Architect leads and manages landscape architecture projects from concept to completion with increasing independence. The role calls for a strong design vision, technical proficiency and effective client management, producing sustainable and functional designs that meet client objectives and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects by developing plans, managing schedules and budgets under guidance, and delivering on time, within budget and to a high standard of client satisfaction.
• Create innovative, sustainable designs and produce design drawings, detailed specifications, 3D visualizations and presentations, with review from senior staff.
• Apply technical expertise in site grading, drainage, irrigation, plant selection and material specification, ensuring compliance with local regulations, zoning ordinances and environmental standards.
• Act as key client contact, present design concepts, gather feedback and lead stakeholder meetings, with senior staff support on strategic client management.
• Mentor and supervise junior landscape architects and designers, reviewing their work and supporting their development.
• Integrate sustainable design principles, including water conservation, native and adapted plants and energy-efficient landscape systems.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, balance scope, track schedules and allocate resources, and collaborate with project managers and allied design professionals.
• Build relationships with external consultants such as civil engineers, urban planners, architects and contractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) license or equivalent certification preferred, or actively working towards it.
• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in landscape architecture.
• Proven track record of managing a diverse portfolio of projects.
• Good knowledge of local regulations, zoning codes, environmental standards and permitting processes in Kuwait.
• Active participation in professional organizations and commitment to ongoing professional development.
