Internal Auditor

About the role

The Internal Auditor will support the Office of Internal Audit in delivering independent, objective assurance and advisory services across American International University’s academic and administrative functions. Working under the Director of Internal Audit, the role contributes to the university’s RISE Strategy by evaluating controls, identifying risks, and recommending improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the execution of the annual risk‑based internal audit plan.
• Conduct operational, compliance and process audits across academic and administrative departments.
• Perform audit fieldwork including interviews, process walkthroughs, document reviews and testing of internal controls.
• Assess the consistent application of institutional policies, procedures and regulations.
• Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies and compliance gaps.
• Maintain complete and accurate audit working papers in line with professional auditing standards.
• Prepare audit reports, document findings and monitor corrective actions.

Required profile

• Ability to maintain independence, objectivity and confidentiality.
• Capability to conduct audit engagements, document findings and follow up on corrective actions.
