Materials Examiner and Identifier (Fork Lift Operator)

About the role

The Materials Examiner and Identifier (Fork Lift Operator) is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and classifying a wide range of materials in a secure warehouse environment. The role ensures accurate documentation, proper handling of hazardous or demilitarized items, and efficient movement of palletized goods using forklift equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and examine materials, reviewing accompanying disposal turn‑in documents for accuracy.
• Compare data against property records, verifying stock numbers, quantities, and disposal authority codes.
• Visually inspect items for condition, determine acceptability, and assign classification instructions.
• Identify special handling requirements such as hazardous material, precious metals, or demilitarization (DEMIL) codes.
• Maintain segregated storage for DEMIL items and ensure proper certification on turn‑in documents.
• Conduct special and periodic inventories, re‑palletize or relocate property as needed.
• Operate forklifts and related material‑handling equipment to load, unload, stack, and move palletized supplies.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain required security clearance (non‑critical sensitive).
• Successful completion of background check, REAL ID, and USCENTCOM physical requirements.
• Eligibility for a 12‑month overseas rotation in the CENTCOM area.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licenses and certifications for forklift operation.
• Male applicants must be registered with Selective Service or exempt.
