NICU Registrar

About the role

The NICU Registrar provides coordination and administrative support for neonatal care across the delivery rooms, operating theatres, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), nursery and post‑natal wards. Working in compliance with the Ministry of Health regulations and hospital policies, the role ensures that all newborn patients receive safe, high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage patient flow for newborns in delivery rooms, theatres and the NICU.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with Ministry of Health and hospital bylaws.
• Oversee admission, discharge and transfer processes for neonatal patients.
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure adherence to departmental policies and guidelines.
• Monitor compliance with health and safety standards within the neonatal units.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in nursing, midwifery or a related health field.
• Experience working in a neonatal or maternity setting.
• Strong understanding of Ministry of Health regulations and hospital policies.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of neonatal care protocols.
• Proficiency in medical record management.
