Process Engineer (Kuwait)

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join its team in Kuwait. The role focuses on ensuring that contractor deliverables, construction activities, and commissioning processes meet design specifications and QHSE standards while providing on‑the‑job training to client personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and review contractor requisitions, work packages, risk and method statements to optimise work processes.
• Witness and verify compliance with design specifications, overseeing construction and commissioning to maintain QHSE standards.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to client counterparts and act as liaison between client and contractor, reporting to the Resident Engineer.
• Prepare and review process engineering deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, equipment sizing, and datasheets.
• Perform process simulations, hydraulic calculations and technical evaluations using engineering software and industry standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support procurement, detailed engineering, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
• Participate in safety studies (HAZOP/HAZID) and ensure compliance with client specifications and international standards.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of process engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• 2‑5 years of experience in design and construction of onshore plants.
• Familiarity with industry standard codes and construction practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.

Required skills

• Process simulation and hydraulic calculations.
• Preparation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Heat and material balance calculations, equipment sizing and datasheet preparation.
• Conducting HAZOP and HAZID safety studies.
• Proficiency with engineering software and industry standards.
