Freelance Research Physicist – Python AI Trainer

About the role

We are looking for a freelance research physicist to design and validate computational physics problems that will be used to train and evaluate AI systems. The role is project‑based, remote and offers flexible hours.

Key responsibilities

• Design original computational physics problems that reflect real research workflows in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
• Create problem statements that require Python solutions using libraries such as NumPy, SciPy and SymPy, ensuring they are computationally intensive.
• Validate solutions by implementing and testing them with standard physics simulation libraries.
• Document each problem clearly and provide verified correct answers.
• Collaborate with the AI‑training team to align problem difficulty with project goals.

Required profile

• Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental or computational) or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in research, applied physics or teaching.
• Strong written English (C1 level or higher).

Required skills

• Python programming.
• NumPy, SciPy, SymPy (or equivalent scientific libraries).
• Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Pandas is a plus.
• Experience with numerical simulation and physics modelling.

What we offer

• Up to $35 per hour, depending on expertise and contribution speed.
• Estimated workload of 10–20 hours per week during active project phases.
