Pastry Chef de Partie

About the role

Jumeirah Messilah Beach, a luxury beachfront resort in Kuwait, is hiring a Chef de Partie for its Pastry Kitchen. The role supports the culinary team and the pastry kitchen, working within a multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist colleagues and support culinary teams where required, building team spirit, credibility, respect, openness and trust.
• Report accidents and sickness immediately to the Chef de Cuisine with clear details.
• Identify potential breakdowns early and request assistance before they occur; relay breakdown information to the JSC so root causes can be identified.
• Adhere to safety procedures, food hygiene and safe food handling policies, and to culinary standards for recipes, preparation and plating.
• Liaise with the Stewarding Manager to maintain cleanliness of machinery, equipment, floors and fridges, and communicate equipment malfunctions to the Chef de Cuisine.
• Follow set-up times and breakdown schedules for each meal period or event, and follow control and key procedures.
• Order, receive and store quality ingredients correctly using FIFO rotation, and prepare them according to recipes, plating guides and buffet setups while maximising production time and minimising waste.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of culinary experience in a five-star hotel.
• Solid international culinary experience.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the style of cuisine.
• Knowledge of HACCP and general health and safety in the workplace.
