Chef de Partie - Banquet Kitchen

About the role

Jumeirah Messilah Beach, a luxury beachfront resort in Kuwait with conference and banqueting facilities, is hiring a Chef de Partie for its Banquet Kitchen. The role supports the culinary team and upholds food quality, safety and cleanliness standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist colleagues and support culinary teams where needed, building team spirit, credibility, respect, openness and trust.
• Report accidents and sickness immediately to the Chef de Cuisine with clear details, and relay breakdown information so root causes can be identified.
• Respond positively to changes in departmental function as dictated by the industry, company or hotel.
• Adhere to safety procedures, food hygiene and safe food handling policies, and to culinary standards on recipes, preparation and plating.
• Liaise with the Stewarding Manager to maintain cleanliness of machinery, equipment, floors and fridges, and keep equipment in good working order.
• Follow set-up times and breakdown schedules for each meal period or event, and follow all control and key procedures.
• Order, receive and store quality ingredients correctly using FIFO rotation, and prepare them according to recipes, plating guides and buffet set-ups while maximising production time and minimising waste.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of culinary experience in a five-star hotel.
• Solid international culinary experience.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Knowledge of the style of cuisine.

Required skills

• HACCP knowledge.
• General health and safety awareness in the workplace.
