Business Director, Parts and Group Logistics

About the role

The Business Director leads parts sales, imports, warehousing and distribution operations to drive business growth, profitability, cost efficiency and operational excellence within the company's delegated authority. The role covers strategy, operations, people management and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate strategic plans and budgets for parts sales logistics and distribution, identify market trends and take part in due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
• Plan and direct marketing and sales activities (pricing, product mix, promotions, advertising, sales targets) to achieve profit, sales and market share targets.
• Forecast warehousing and distribution needs, manage inventory and distribution, and develop service level agreements with internal customers.
• Plan and direct the acquisition of new facilities and equipment, and build logistics infrastructure for timely, cost-effective delivery.
• Develop processes to reduce obsolete, damaged and short stock, and improve business processes through data-driven analysis.
• Ensure regular and surprise physical inventory counts, document discrepancies and ensure compliance with group policies and health and safety standards.
• Advise on the impact of new regulations such as import/export and customs rules, and represent the group in negotiations with suppliers on product mix, pricing and branding.
• Report periodically to management on performance, KPIs, budgets and costs, and maintain knowledge of industry trends.
• Lead and mentor the team, prepare the manpower budget, set objectives and KPIs, and approve appointments, promotions, salary adjustments and disciplinary actions while handling grievances promptly.

Required profile

• Postgraduate diploma with 16 years of experience, or bachelor's degree with 19 years of experience.
