Consultant - Geophysicist

About the role

Anton, a global integrated oil and gas value-added management services company headquartered in Dubai, is hiring a Consultant - Geophysicist in Kuwait for its On-sync Energy Management Services Company. The consultant provides expert advice on seismic acquisition, processing, interpretation and application of geophysical data for exploration and development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and plan 2D and 3D seismic acquisition programs, optimising survey geometry, data quality, cost and exploration risk.
• Evaluate and recommend geophysical acquisition techniques, review processing workflows and perform quality control of seismic data.
• Validate final seismic volumes and provide technical guidance on quantitative interpretation and seismic reservoir prediction.
• Conduct and review seismic interpretation, including horizon and fault mapping, stratigraphic analysis and subsurface framework development.
• Apply AVO/AVA, seismic inversion, rock physics and seismic reservoir characterization, and integrate seismic data with well logs, core data and petrophysical interpretation.
• Assess geohazards such as faulting, overpressure and formation instability, and assess geological and geophysical risks and opportunities for management decisions.
• Develop and manage geophysical programs (scope, schedule, budget, technical requirements) and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with E&P companies, technology providers and research institutions on emerging technologies, including machine learning for fault detection and facies classification.
• Prepare technical reports, deliverables and presentations, and mentor and train geophysicists.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Geoscience, Geophysics, Geology, Engineering or a related discipline; PhD preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of international upstream oil and gas experience, with substantial seismic geophysics and E&P experience.
• Extensive experience in 2D/3D seismic acquisition planning, processing, quality control and interpretation.
• Experience with carbonate reservoirs and Middle East petroleum systems is an advantage; international experience with major or independent E&P companies or research institutions is preferred.
• Strong technical publication record in recognized geoscience or industry journals is preferred.
