Consultant of Radiology & MRI

About the role

The Consultant of Radiology & MRI will lead multi‑modality imaging services, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic reports and patient safety. You will work in a fast‑paced, multicultural hospital environment, collaborating closely with clinicians and imaging teams.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret, supervise and report X‑ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI studies, including contrast‑enhanced and advanced examinations, and perform related biopsies.
• Define and optimise imaging protocols with technologists to achieve diagnostic quality, radiation optimisation and patient comfort.
• Screen patients for MRI suitability, manage contrast administration and uphold radiation and MRI safety standards.
• Advise referring clinicians, vet imaging requests and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Supervise technologists, mentor residents, participate in on‑call cover and support service development.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• MBBS (or equivalent) with a Master’s and Fellowship/Membership/Board certification in Radiology, plus MRI or subspecialty fellowship training.
• Minimum 9 years post‑fellowship experience, including extensive MRI interpretation.
• Valid BLS certification; ACLS where applicable.
• Strong diagnostic, communication and teaching abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multicultural hospital setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with RIS/PACS systems.
• Microsoft Office competency.
• Expertise in MRI, CT, X‑ray and ultrasound imaging interpretation.
• Contrast administration techniques.
• Radiation safety and MRI safety practices.
