Pharmacy Officer

About the role

The Pharmacy Officer supports the pharmacy team by preparing prescriptions, managing stock, and maintaining accurate records to ensure safe and efficient medication delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Type prescriptions and labels with patient, medication, and dosage details for pharmacist review.
• Receive supplies, tag and price items, and rotate stock using a first‑expiry‑first‑out system.
• Assist pharmacists with counting drugs and supplies, and maintain prescription records.
• Compile daily statistics on new prescriptions and inventory counts.
• Answer calls, handle emails, and route inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with pharmacy standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Pharmacy.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a pharmacy, hospital, or related clerical role.
• Knowledge of pharmacy law, ethics, pharmaceutical calculations, and record keeping.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations.
