Consultant - Petrophysicist, Program Design

About the role

Anton, an integrated oil and gas value-added services company headquartered in Dubai, is hiring a Consultant - Petrophysicist (Program Design) in Kuwait. The role leads advanced formation evaluation and petrophysical interpretation, supports real-time decision-making during drilling, and mentors junior subsurface professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead advanced formation evaluation using multi-mineral modelling, saturation evaluation, borehole imaging and integrated petrophysical workflows.
• Integrate core data (RCAL/SCAL), well logs, mud logs, drilling data and geochemical information for reservoir characterization.
• Interpret LWD, wireline and mud logging data in real time, and support drilling operations on complex, deviated, horizontal and HPHT wells.
• Evaluate TOC, pyrolysis, mineralogy and other geochemical data for unconventional reservoirs, and build water saturation, capillary pressure and net-pay models.
• Build and calibrate Mechanical Earth Models (MEM) and provide geomechanical input for well placement, completion and hydraulic fracturing.
• Provide petrophysical inputs for static and dynamic reservoir models, and condition, validate and quality-control petrophysical data.
• Quantify petrophysical uncertainties, run sensitivity studies and VOI assessments, and apply digital workflows and machine learning.
• Lead technical reviews, standardize workflows, and coach and mentor junior petrophysicists.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Petroleum Engineering or a related field; Master's preferred.
• 15-20 years of upstream petrophysical experience, preferably with an operating IOC or NOC.
• 5+ years of active operations petrophysics, including complex onshore/offshore, HPHT, deviated and horizontal wells.
• Experience across carbonate, clastic, conventional and unconventional reservoirs.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor juniors.
