Consultant - Water & Steam

About the role

Anton, an integrated oil and gas value-added services company headquartered in Dubai, is hiring a Consultant - Water & Steam for its On-sync Energy Management Services Company in Kuwait. The role provides technical support and optimisation of steam generation, distribution, injection and condensate systems, as well as water treatment and boiler performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for steam generation, distribution, injection and condensate systems.
• Optimise water treatment, boiler performance, steam quality and water quality.
• Monitor system performance and identify improvements to efficiency, reliability and operational performance.
• Troubleshoot boiler, steam, water-treatment, cooling-water and utility-system issues.
• Review operating data, chemical treatment programmes, water chemistry, steam quality and condensate performance.
• Support technical studies, debottlenecking, facility modifications and engineering projects, including reviews of designs, specifications, vendor proposals and technical submissions.
• Conduct technical audits, system assessments and performance evaluations.
• Support energy, water and steam conservation initiatives and give technical guidance to Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Provide independent technical recommendations to support operational decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Water, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Significant experience in heavy-oil or thermal recovery operations, steam generation, water treatment and utility systems.
• Oil and gas field experience highly preferred; field-based experience and willingness to conduct site inspections required.
• Ability to work with Operations, Maintenance, Reservoir, Production and Projects teams.
• Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer certification preferred; CEM, boiler or water-treatment specialist certification an advantage.

Required skills

• Boilers, steam-generation systems, steam distribution and injection, water treatment and water chemistry.
• Boiler water chemistry, chemical treatment, steam quality, condensate management and cooling-water systems.
• Troubleshooting, optimisation, performance assessment and technical reporting.
• Knowledge of applicable engineering standards and HSE requirements.
• Strong understanding of heavy-oil steam injection and thermal recovery processes.
