Director of Sales & Marketing

About the role

The Director of Sales & Marketing will develop and execute the annual sales and marketing strategy, business plan and commercial action plans in line with IHG and hotel objectives. This role is responsible for delivering budgeted rooms, MICE, banquet and F&B revenues while maximizing ADR, occupancy, RevPAR, market share and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Sales & Marketing team, set targets, review performance and foster a strong sales culture.
• Manage and grow key Kuwait accounts across corporate, government, MICE, airline, leisure and travel‑trade segments.
• Generate new business through account development, sales calls, client entertainment, site inspections, FAM trips, trade shows and networking.
• Partner with Revenue Management on pricing, segmentation, forecasts and displacement decisions to optimise total hotel revenue.
• Lead marketing, digital, social media, PR and promotional activities, protecting IHG brand identity and strengthening local positioning.
• Monitor competitors and market trends, providing accurate forecasts, sales reports and market intelligence to the General Manager and Executive Committee.
• Manage departmental budgets and marketing investment, ensuring ROI, cost control and compliance with IHG commercial standards.
• Drive IHG sales programmes, RFPs, loyalty and brand campaigns, representing the hotel at local, regional and international events.
