Economics Faculty Position (Full/Associate/Assistant Professor)

About the role

The School of Business at the American International University in Kuwait (a private institution founded in 2019, offering English-taught undergraduate programmes in Business, Engineering, Architecture, Arts and Sciences and Education) is looking for a full-time faculty member in Economics at the rank of Full Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. The appointee will teach undergraduate Economics, maintain an active research and/or creative practice, and contribute to curriculum development, student mentorship and institutional service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver innovative undergraduate Economics courses covering economic theory, contemporary issues, data analysis, business decision-making and real-world applications.
• Develop technology-enhanced curricula using AI, data analytics, digital tools and interactive learning platforms.
• Keep courses updated to reflect emerging economic trends, industry needs, academic standards and accreditation requirements.
• Supervise senior projects and advise and mentor students.
• Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
• Support programme assessment, accreditation and quality assurance.

Required profile

• PhD in Economics.
• At least 5 years of university teaching experience with demonstrated excellence in Economics.
• Experience with curriculum development, assessment, accreditation and quality assurance.
• Strong English communication, advising and mentoring skills; ability to work in diverse, multicultural academic settings.

Required skills

• Economic theory, quantitative methods, econometrics and applied economic analysis.
• Ability to design technology-enabled courses, including effective use of AI and interactive learning tools.
