Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Power Generation & Substations

About the role

The role involves leading the electrical maintenance, commissioning and operation of power generation equipment and sub‑station systems for the Jurassic Production Facilities 5 project in North Kuwait. You will coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and client engineers to ensure reliable start‑up and continuous operation of generators, transformers, switchgear and control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and execute pre‑commissioning and commissioning documentation for GTG, EDG, HV/MV/LV substations and distribution systems.
• Lead a team for operation and maintenance of gas turbines, diesel generators and associated equipment.
• Integrate SCADA (ESCADA) with control and field equipment, and develop operating procedures and O&M manuals.
• Produce technical drawings (single line, schematic, cable schedules) and obtain client approvals for construction layouts.
• Coordinate budgeting, spare parts lists, subcontractor estimates and detailed project schedules.
• Create method statements, test plans and compile test reports for switchgear, transformers, CT/PT, motor control centers, UPS, lighting and other electrical systems.
• Liaise with vendors for erection and commissioning of specialized equipment and ensure compliance with hazardous area classification and relay coordination.

Required profile

• BE/B‑Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical commissioning, maintenance and project execution in the oil & gas or power generation sector.
• Project management knowledge is an advantage.
