Electrical Metrology Engineer – Senior Level

About the role

The Electrical Metrology Engineer will serve as the resident expert, providing engineering and consultancy services to the Government of Kuwait. Working closely with the Kuwait Senior Engineer, you will lead metrology planning, research new equipment, and ensure the laboratory meets QA accreditation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and evaluate new measurement equipment and techniques for future acquisition.
• Develop and implement a Metrology QA program and maintain laboratory accreditation.
• Assess requirements and create new electrical, electronic and microwave measurement approaches.
• Design, test and validate calibration methodologies and establish test performance criteria.
• Direct the development of calibration procedures and oversee equipment servicing to ensure traceability.
• Liaise with international technical societies and engineering facilities to stay current with state‑of‑the‑art techniques.
• Perform detailed laboratory capability studies and define operational, environmental, performance and safety criteria.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, physics or a related technical field.
• At least twelve years of experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating electronic precision measurement equipment and laboratory reference standards.
• Completion of a U.S. military precision measurement and calibration school (or equivalent).
• Five years of experience supervising and training calibration and repair technicians, with at least three years within the last five years.
• Experience in managing calibration laboratory facilities and environmental control systems.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
