Electrical Site Engineer - 400 kV OHL Project

About the role

An experienced Electrical Site Engineer is sought to join a team immediately for a 400 kV Overhead Transmission Line (OHL) project in Kuwait. The role covers supervising electrical construction, coordinating with civil, planning, safety, QA/QC and client/consultant teams, and reporting site progress.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate electrical construction activities for the 400 kV overhead transmission line.
• Supervise tower erection and associated electrical installation activities.
• Coordinate conductor, earth wire and OPGW stringing, sagging, tensioning and installation.
• Supervise installation of insulators, fittings, clamps, spacers, vibration dampers and other line hardware.
• Ensure work follows approved drawings, specifications, method statements and utility requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, testing and commissioning.
• Monitor subcontractors' performance, manpower, equipment, materials and progress.
• Review drawings and technical documents, resolve site technical issues, and prepare daily and weekly site reports.
• Follow up on RFIs and technical submissions, and ensure compliance with HV transmission line standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in similar high-voltage overhead transmission line projects; 400 kV experience highly preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of tower erection, conductor stringing, sagging, tensioning, OPGW installation and line hardware.
• Good understanding of HV transmission line construction methods and quality requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Strong site coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Immediate availability is mandatory.
