Planning Engineer - 400 kV OHL Project

About the role

An experienced Planning Engineer is sought to join a team immediately for a 400 kV Overhead Transmission Line (OHL) project in Kuwait. The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in similar high-voltage projects and immediate availability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update the detailed project baseline schedule using Primavera P6 or an equivalent tool.
• Plan and monitor engineering, procurement, civil works, tower erection, conductor/OPGW stringing, testing and commissioning activities.
• Monitor actual progress against the approved baseline schedule and identify delays, critical activities and schedule risks.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement and project management teams to collect accurate progress information.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, schedule updates, look-ahead schedules and recovery programs and mitigation plans when needed.
• Analyse project performance, productivity, critical path and schedule variance, and support the Project Manager with forecasting, progress measurement and resource planning.
• Maintain accurate project records and planning documentation, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers on planned activities and milestones.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of planning experience in similar high-voltage overhead transmission line projects; 400 kV transmission line experience is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of OHL construction activities such as foundations, tower erection, conductor/OPGW stringing, testing and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of progress measurement, critical path analysis, schedule control and delay analysis.
• Excellent analytical, coordination and reporting skills.
• Immediate availability is mandatory.
