Full Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor of Physics

About the role

American International University (AIU), a private institution in Kuwait founded in 2019, is hiring a full-time Physics faculty member for its School of Arts and Sciences. The post reports to the Dean of the School and covers teaching undergraduate physics, mentoring students and contributing to the school's academic mission. The university follows the American model of higher education and serves more than 4,000 students.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate physics courses from introductory to advanced levels.
• Develop and deliver course materials using effective and innovative teaching practices across classroom, hybrid and online modalities.
• Advise, mentor and support students in their academic and professional development.
• Take part in program and course assessment to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with learning outcomes.
• Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement.
• Participate in faculty governance, service and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required profile

• PhD in Engineering or a related field.
• University teaching experience preferred.
• Background in program and course outcomes assessment highly desirable.
• Active engagement in research projects and academic conferences.
• Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarly publications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Experience working effectively in multicultural academic environments.

Preferred: strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to integrate diverse cultural and ethical perspectives into the curriculum, and strong organisational skills.
