HR Business Advisor (Local Candidates Only)

About the role

American International University (AIU), a private university in Kuwait founded in 2019, is hiring an HR Business Advisor (local candidates only). The role reports to the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Employee Relations and acts as the direct point of contact for employees of assigned departments, bridging them with the HR department. It is classified as Admin Support.

Key responsibilities

• Track and monitor attendance records so they remain accurate and up to date.
• Monitor and manage leave requests in line with university policies and regulations.
• Lead termination meetings and handle resignations professionally, following university requirements.
• Participate in recruiting efforts by sourcing and attracting talent for the needs of assigned departments.
• Collaborate with the HR team to align HR strategies with departmental goals.
• Lead onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires and departing employees.
• Maintain strong relationships with departmental and divisional leaders as a liaison between them and HR.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field; HR certification preferred.
• 6 years of HR experience, ideally in higher education or a similar setting.
• Strong grasp of HR practices, employment laws, recruitment, onboarding and employee relations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to handle sensitive conversations professionally, with strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, ensure compliance and work in a multicultural environment.
