IT Help Desk Support

About the role

American Baccalaureate School (ABS) is hiring an IT Help Desk Support person to assist faculty, staff, students and parents with technical support of computers, applications and related technology. The work covers setup, installation and troubleshooting of applications, systems and peripherals, and requires pro-active, independent analysis, communication and problem solving with little supervision. The position reports to the IT Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for technical assistance requests by phone or email.
• Install, set up and configure PC systems and student laptops.
• Support Microsoft Office 365 suite applications for staff, students and parents.
• Set up laptop-projector combinations for presentations and events.
• Update website content and social media.
• Provide accurate information on IT products and services, and direct unresolved issues to higher-level support.
• Support and assist with all school applications.
• Maintain endpoint protection: updates, patches and monitoring.
• Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
• Resolve LAN and WAN network issues and provide CCTV system technical support.
• Deliver IT training and orientation sessions for staff, students and parents.
• Document custom handouts.

Required profile

• BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science or a relevant field.
• Proven experience as a help desk technician or in another customer support role.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
• Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills.
• Candidates able to join immediately and available locally are preferred.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of office automation products, databases and remote control tools.
• Understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products.
