Mathematics Faculty Member (Full, Associate or Assistant Professor)

About the role

The School of Arts and Sciences at American International University in Kuwait is recruiting a Mathematics faculty member (Full Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor). The post reports to the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences and covers teaching, curriculum work, assessment, research and service. The university is a private institution founded in 2019, offering undergraduate programmes in English.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Mathematics and related subjects according to the university's academic standards and curriculum.
• Develop, update and deliver course materials such as syllabi, lectures, assignments and examinations.
• Assess student learning and give timely, constructive feedback.
• Take part in curriculum development, programme assessment and continuous improvement in the Mathematics department.
• Engage in scholarly, research and professional development activities.
• Contribute to departmental, school and university committees and meetings.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful and intellectually stimulating learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives and perform other duties assigned by the department head or the dean.

Required profile

• PhD in Engineering or a related field.
• Prior university-level teaching experience in Mathematics or related subjects.
• Ability to contribute to curriculum development, assessment and continuous improvement.
• Strong commitment to academic excellence and demonstrated ability to engage students.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken English.

Preferred: exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, ability to bring diverse cultural and ethical perspectives into the curriculum, and strong organisational skills and adaptability.
