Operations Associate - Global Payments Services (Kuwaiti National Role)

About the role

HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) is seeking an Operations Associate to join its Global Payments Services Operations team in Kuwait. The role supports the growing business and helps achieve divisional targets.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the Payments Operations business plan, strategy and annual objectives in line with global and country requirements.
• Implement the Target Operating Model, including migration, standardisation, automation and potential outsourcing of activities.
• Set and achieve goals for production quality, service quality, financial performance, operational risk and service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Lead and support regulatory, transformation and operational change programmes so their impact is understood and implemented.
• Build relationships with business leaders, global and regional Operations teams, Risk, Technology, Transformation, auditors, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and customer advocacy by improving service quality, efficiency, scalability and the experience of business partners.
• Maintain operational governance, including controls, policies, procedures, business continuity, information security, compliance, supplier contracts and control-monitoring plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• Strong knowledge of Payment Operations, including relevant products, services, systems and processes.
• Understanding of key payment activities such as remittances, investigations, screening and charges processing.
• Good understanding of Kuwait's payment systems, operational risk and control requirements.
• Ability to solve problems and make sound judgements, including considering alternative solutions.
• Clear, concise and confident communication with senior stakeholders and colleagues at all levels.
• Able to prioritise workloads, work independently under pressure and collaborate effectively in a team.
