Operations Superintendent – Land Deep Drilling

About the role

The Operations Superintendent will lead on‑site land deep drilling rigs in Kuwait, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective execution of all drilling activities. This senior position oversees safety, drilling, logistics, maintenance, and subcontractor performance.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and control all operational functions of assigned rigs, including safety, drilling, moving, logistics, and maintenance.
• Coordinate all phases of rig operations and manage subcontractor services on‑site.
• Control operational costs through regular analysis and implement efficiency improvements.
• Plan and schedule major repairs to minimize downtime while meeting contractual standards.
• Lead QHSE initiatives, enforce the QHSE Management System, and ensure waste‑management compliance.
• Communicate well programs and schedules to rig crews and provide technical advice as needed.
• Optimize resource utilization to reduce Non‑Productive Time (NPT) and apply the RAMS program consistently.
• Support continuous improvement, CAP participation, and compliance with API Q2 and ISO 9001 standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of Oil & Gas experience, with at least 5 years as a Drilling or Operations Superintendent on land deep drilling rigs.
• Valid Supervisory Level Well Sharp, IWCF, or Second Line Well Control certification.
• Project management capability and strong financial acumen.
• Technical school degree, fluent written and spoken English, and proficiency in a second foreign language.
• PC literate with Microsoft Office skills.
