Planning Engineer (Site)

About the role

The Planning Engineer (Site) applies project management and planning tools and techniques so that project completion dates and milestones are achieved. The role works closely with contractors, consultants and client representatives to keep the schedule on track.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze contractor schedules and evaluate claims, EOTs and recovery programs.
• Assist in developing and reviewing project control procedures and systems.
• Attend progress meetings and give expert planning input to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and client representatives to ensure schedule compliance.
• Ensure planning activities comply with contractual requirements and international best practice.
• Monitor progress against the baseline schedule and flag delays or risks early.
• Prepare and present weekly and monthly progress reports and dashboards.
• Support the site supervision team in resolving planning and scheduling issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of overall experience in development or construction projects, including multi-storey residential buildings, with work in the Middle East and elsewhere.
• Degree in an engineering-related field; a postgraduate degree or membership of a recognized professional body is an advantage.
• Additional training, professional memberships and technical certifications such as PE (KSEPMI), PMP, RMP, LEED, Autodesk, Six Sigma and HSSE are desired.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Primavera and Microsoft Project.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Detail-oriented, systematic and able to compile project reports as requested by management.
