Preschool English Teacher

About the role

BeCurious Preschool is seeking a passionate English Teacher to create a warm, stimulating environment for children aged 1‑5. You will deliver a Finnish‑inspired, play‑based curriculum that helps young learners develop foundational English language skills while fostering curiosity and holistic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age‑appropriate English lessons using songs, stories, games, arts, and movement.
• Maintain a nurturing classroom where children feel safe, valued, and eager to learn.
• Manage daily routines such as snack time, rest, free play, and cleanup.
• Prepare and organize teaching materials including flashcards, visual aids, books, and manipulatives.
• Communicate regularly with parents about each child’s progress and areas for development.
• Collaborate with co‑teachers, assistants, and curriculum managers to ensure consistent teaching practices.
• Observe, assess, and adapt instruction to support individual language development.
• Uphold all safety, health, and preschool policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, English, TESOL/TEFL, Child Development or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience teaching preschool‑aged children (1‑5 years), preferably in English.
• Strong command of spoken and written English, clear articulation for young learners.
• Willingness to adopt play‑based, child‑centered methodologies such as the Finnish approach.
• Patience, creativity, energy, and genuine love for working with young children.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with children, parents, and staff.
