Senior Consultant - Geologist, Depositional Systems Specialist

About the role

Anton, a global integrated oil and gas value-added management services company headquartered in Dubai, is hiring a Senior Consultant - Geologist, Depositional Systems Specialist for its On-sync Energy Management Services Company in Kuwait. The role covers sedimentological and stratigraphic analysis, depositional system modelling and 3D static geological modelling, working across exploration and reservoir studies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse core, cuttings, petrography and well-log data to interpret sedimentology, facies and depositional systems
• Develop depositional environment models for clastic and carbonate systems at field and basin scale
• Apply sequence stratigraphy to define reservoir architecture, trapping mechanisms and heterogeneity
• Build stratigraphic correlations, chronostratigraphic frameworks and facies distribution models
• Integrate core, well-log, seismic and other subsurface data into stratigraphic and depositional interpretations
• Construct high-resolution stratigraphic cross-sections, correlation panels and depositional frameworks
• Design, coordinate and monitor laboratory studies in sedimentology, petrography, biostratigraphy and chemostratigraphy
• Translate interpretations into 3D static models and integrate them into digital geological modelling workflows
• Collaborate with geophysicists, geochemists, petrophysicists and reservoir engineers, mentor junior staff and lead technical activities
• Prepare technical reports, models and presentations

Required profile

• Master's or PhD in Geoscience, preferably Sedimentology, Stratigraphy or Petroleum Geology
• At least 20 years of upstream oil and gas experience, with strong sedimentology, stratigraphy and depositional systems background
• Proven track record in depositional systems characterization and sequence stratigraphy, and in building stratigraphic frameworks and 3D static models
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams; international experience with major or independent E&P companies is preferred
• Middle East experience is an advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency with geological interpretation and modelling software such as Petrel or equivalent
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking, communication and leadership skills
