Senior Consultant Geophysicist - Seismic Data Processing

About the role

Anton, an integrated oil and gas value-added management services company headquartered in Dubai, is hiring a Senior Consultant Geophysicist for its On-sync Energy Management Services Company in Kuwait. The role leads seismic data processing workflows, manages contractors and supports geoscience interpretation teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage seismic data processing workflows for 2D and 3D land, marine and transition-zone datasets.
• Establish and quality-control processing steps such as geometry QC, noise attenuation, amplitude and statics corrections, deconvolution, multiple attenuation, velocity model building and migration.
• Lead advanced depth-imaging workflows including Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM), Reverse Time Migration (RTM) and Full Waveform Inversion (FWI).
• Evaluate and manage seismic processing contractors through technical assessments, benchmarking, tender evaluations and performance reviews.
• Lead seismic reprocessing projects and integrate legacy datasets with modern workflows.
• Review contractor reports, velocity models, conditioned gathers and migrated volumes, and ensure deliverables meet industry data standards.
• Work with geoscience interpretation teams and provide conditioned full-stack and angle-stack volumes for attribute analysis, AVO/AVAz, inversion and interpretation.
• Support well-tie, seismic-to-well calibration and integrated subsurface studies.
• Evaluate AI/ML-assisted processing, HPC and cloud-based platforms, and contribute to digital geoscience initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports, QC documentation, milestone reviews and metadata, train the team and represent the company in technical forums.

Required profile

• PhD in Geophysics, Geoscience, Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of upstream oil and gas experience, preferably 25+ years internationally with major and independent E&P companies or research institutions.
• Proven experience managing contractors, benchmarking studies and large-scale reprocessing projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex technical programs.
• Excellent English communication and report-writing skills; Middle East experience is an advantage.

• Extensive expertise in 2D/3D seismic processing and imaging (PSDM, RTM, FWI, multiple attenuation, velocity modelling)
• Seismic QC, data standards and subsurface QA/QC
• Support for AVO/AVAz, inversion, well-tie and interpretation workflows
• AI/ML-assisted processing, HPC and cloud-based processing (highly desirable)
