Senior Internal Audit Specialist

About the role

The Senior Internal Audit Specialist will provide independent assurance and advisory services to strengthen ZAD’s governance, risk management and internal control framework. This role plans and executes risk‑based audit engagements, evaluates control effectiveness, and supports continuous improvement across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk‑based internal audit engagements in line with the approved Internal Audit Plan and IIA standards.
• Evaluate governance, risk management and internal control processes across all business functions.
• Assess compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and applicable laws.
• Conduct operational, financial, compliance and information systems audits to identify control weaknesses and business risks.
• Prepare clear audit reports with findings, root‑cause analysis, risk assessments and recommendations.
• Monitor implementation of management action plans and perform follow‑up reviews.
• Provide advisory support to auditable units, clarify audit findings and assist in drafting policies and procedures manuals.
• Participate in enterprise risk assessments and help develop the annual Internal Audit Plan.
• Maintain audit working papers in accordance with professional standards and liaise with management, external auditors and regulators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, Organizational Behaviour or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as CIA or CRMA is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of Kuwait Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) regulatory requirements.
• 3‑6 years of experience in internal audit or management consulting, preferably within financial institutions, fintech or investment companies.
• Proven experience planning and executing risk‑based audit engagements.
• Experience preparing organizational policies, procedures manuals and process flowcharts.
