Senior Irrigation Engineer

About the role

The Senior Irrigation Engineer will lead the design, implementation and maintenance of irrigation systems for landscape projects, ensuring they meet design specifications, budgets and timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of irrigation technicians and workers to deliver projects successfully.
• Analyse contract drawings and specifications to produce detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and shop drawings.
• Perform mechanical and technical calculations to optimise water usage.
• Prepare and submit manufacturer data sheets for irrigation equipment, securing required approvals.
• Create and maintain project documentation such as method statements, work instructions and progress reports.
• Coordinate with supervisory consultants for site inspections and approvals.
• Develop site construction plans and obtain senior management sign‑off.
• Manage project budgets and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in a senior irrigation engineering role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to safety and industry best practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Expertise in irrigation system design and equipment.
• Ability to perform mechanical and technical calculations.
• Experience preparing Bills of Quantities and shop drawings.
• Budgeting and cost management skills.
