Senior IT Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Senior IT Engineer to manage and optimise the IT infrastructure supporting port and terminal operations in Kuwait City. You will lead technical initiatives, mentor junior staff and ensure the reliability and security of critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain servers, networks and communication systems for port and terminal operations.
• Manage and optimise database systems that support logistics management.
• Develop and enforce IT security protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues to minimise operational downtime.
• Lead IT projects from planning through implementation, overseeing resources and timelines.
• Mentor and supervise junior IT engineers, providing guidance and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Monitor system performance, capacity and security, implementing upgrades as needed.
• Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.

Required profile

• 7+ years of IT infrastructure management experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of port or logistics‑focused IT environments.
• Proven expertise in network, system and server administration.
• Experience with IT security frameworks, compliance and risk management.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor technical teams.
