Visiting Faculty - Interior Design

About the role

American International University (AIU), a private institution in Kuwait founded in 2019, is looking for a Visiting Faculty member in Interior Design within its School of Architecture and Design. The position is open to local candidates only and is based in Jahrah. The appointee contributes to undergraduate education, curriculum development, student mentorship, accreditation readiness and institutional service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate studio and lecture courses in Interior Design, including residential, commercial and furniture design.
• Integrate contemporary tools such as CAD, BIM (Revit), 3D modelling and digital fabrication into the curriculum.
• Update course content to reflect industry standards, professional competencies and accreditation requirements (e.g. CIDA standards where applicable).
• Maintain rigorous assessment standards and studio critique methodologies.

Required profile

• PhD in Interior Design.
• University teaching experience in the subject matter.
• Industry experience in teaching.
• Proficiency in English and commitment to excellence in teaching.
