Waiter – Radisson Blu Hotel, Kuwait

About the role

The Radisson Blu hotel in Kuwait is looking for a waiter. The main aim is to maximise guest satisfaction, increase sales and improve profitability within the Service department by delivering quality food and beverages in line with the hotel's guidelines. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and courteously, escort them to their table, confirm smoking or non-smoking preference, pull out chairs and place an unfolded napkin.
• Maintain knowledge of the food and beverage menus, advise guests and use professional upselling techniques.
• Keep the restaurant reservations list and daily cover sheets up to date, and maintain an anniversary and birthday list.
• Print accurate guest bills and process payments by room charge, cash or credit card; follow daily closing procedures and tally cash, card transactions, room charges and cash float.
• Report lost and found items and potential hazards to the Restaurant Manager, and follow fire emergency procedures.
• Keep a clean work area, attend briefings and training, and accept flexible working hours.

Required profile

• Arrives on time, keeps good personal hygiene and represents the hotel positively.
• Follows safety rules, hotel policies and applicable laws, including food safety, sanitation and alcohol regulations.
• Knows the hotel's fire, bomb and emergency procedures, health and safety policies, and current alcohol licensing laws.
• Familiar with accepted payment methods, hotel marketing programmes and key corporate clients and returning guests.
