About the role

The Writing Center Manager leads the strategic and daily operations of the Writing Center at Georgetown University in Qatar, advancing Writing Across the Curriculum initiatives and supporting academic writing excellence across disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all operations and activities of the Writing Center, providing expert tutoring to students.
• Lead Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) initiatives and collaborate with faculty on first‑year courses.
• Design and implement innovative programs that promote reading, critical thinking, and information literacy.
• Contribute to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning through research, assessment, and publication.
• Teach first‑year writing courses, summer workshops, and special writing programs as needed.
• Partner with faculty to design discipline‑specific writing assignments and integrate writing‑to‑learn pedagogies.
• Facilitate faculty development workshops on writing pedagogy and assignment design.

Required profile

• Locally based candidate holding a valid Qatar residence permit.
• Full‑time availability for a one‑year term with possible renewal.
• Eligibility for sponsorship and benefits.
