Application Developer (IT)

About the role

The Application Developer will design, build, test and maintain custom and enterprise software solutions that support academic operations, administrative processes and student services at American International University. The role works closely with senior developers and project managers to translate functional requirements into reliable, secure and user‑friendly applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain applications according to defined requirements and standards, including bug fixes and enhancements.
• Integrate applications with core enterprise systems such as SIS, LMS, CRM and analytics platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, support user acceptance testing and assist with deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and support post‑deployment stabilization.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with security, data‑protection and institutional policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in PHP, Laravel, cloud platforms (AWS) or web application development are preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to follow secure coding practices, work collaboratively and adapt to new technologies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in PHP and Laravel framework.
• Strong knowledge of SQL/MySQL databases and API integration.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and GitHub version control.
• Familiarity with data‑visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Understanding of web technologies and best‑practice development standards.
