Commis II – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis II supports the culinary team by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. This full‑time position is based at Marriott Executive Apartments in Kuwait City and reports to the kitchen supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Prepare cold foods and cook items using ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test food for doneness, monitor quality, and ensure proper presentation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain hygiene standards.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment; verify appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow company safety policies, report incidents, and complete required safety training.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a food‑service or kitchen environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions for an entire shift.
• Professional appearance and ability to communicate clearly.
