Construction Manager

About the role

The Construction Manager leads on‑site administration, technical management, and compliance for a large, multi‑million‑dollar government‑funded construction project. The role ensures the project is built to design, budget, schedule, and regulatory standards while providing mentorship to the project team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the entire construction effort to meet design, budget, and timeline requirements.
• Interpret and apply construction documents, including schedules, specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Provide technical assistance, recommend construction methods and equipment, and manage on‑site functions such as scheduling and material control.
• Ensure compliance with security, safety, environmental, hazardous‑materials, and utility regulations.
• Visit sites, prepare progress reports, and coordinate with government and DI inspection personnel.
• Lead, mentor, and develop assigned staff and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in design reviews, construction kickoff meetings, and other project‑related meetings.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of cost controls, contractual and project management for large‑scale construction.
• Familiarity with International Building Code, NFPA Fire Codes, and NEC.
• Deep understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense FAR (DFAR), Service Contract Act, Truth in Negotiations Act, and related federal/state legislation.
• Awareness of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and applicable accounting practices.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal abilities.
