Supervisory Engineer (Architect/Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Environmental)

About the role

This position provides senior supervisory leadership for a multidisciplinary engineering team within a DoD Area Office. The incumbent will oversee field construction operations, coordinate with district and division staff, and ensure alignment with district programs.

Key responsibilities

• Assign work, monitor performance, and make personnel decisions for engineering staff.
• Develop long‑range plans and goals in collaboration with subordinate supervisors.
• Coordinate with Area Engineers, Division Chiefs, and other district elements to negotiate work changes.
• Advise the Chief Construction Branch on the Area Office’s relationship to district programs.
• Resolve technical differences, review as‑built drawings, and approve material and equipment samples.
• Provide field construction oversight across the geographic area of the Office.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• Completion of background investigation, credit check, and required financial disclosure reports.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Registered Architect (RA) credential.
• Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment and work extended shifts (12‑16 hours).
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including temporary duty assignments.
• Compliance with DoD policies such as the Exceptional Family Member Program and foreign area employment regulations.
