Chemical Engineering Faculty (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor)

About the role

The School of Engineering and Computing at American International University in Kuwait is hiring a full-time faculty member in Chemical Engineering at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will teach undergraduates, maintain an active research profile and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, student-centred and multicultural academic environment. The start date is expected to be Spring Semester 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate Chemical Engineering courses with a strong focus on practical, industry-based learning.
• Integrate industry practices, process engineering applications, standards, safety requirements and real-world case studies into teaching.
• Use modern engineering tools such as AI, process simulation, data analysis, process control and digital technologies.
• Cover key topics such as process design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, reaction engineering, process control and plant operations.
• Contribute to curriculum development, student mentorship, research and institutional service.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of university-level teaching experience with demonstrated excellence in teaching and student engagement.
• Strong knowledge of current Chemical Engineering practices, standards, technologies and process safety.
• Ability to connect classroom teaching with real-world engineering and industrial practice.
• Excellent communication, mentoring, teamwork and organisational skills in English.
