Commis 2 - Bakery

About the role

Jumeirah Messilah Beach, a luxury beachfront resort in Kuwait, is hiring a Commis 2 for its Bakery Kitchen. The role supports the bakery team and contributes to a positive, respectful kitchen atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

• Assist colleagues and support culinary teams where needed, building team spirit, credibility and trust.
• Report accidents and sickness immediately to the Chef de Cuisine with clear details.
• Identify potential breakdowns early, ask for help before they happen and relay breakdown information to the chef de partie so root causes can be found.
• Adhere to safety procedures, food hygiene and safe food handling policies, and to culinary standards for recipes, preparation and plating.
• Liaise with the Stewarding Manager to keep the kitchen clean, and keep equipment in good working order, reporting malfunctions to the Chef de Cuisine.
• Follow set-up times and breakdown schedules for each meal period, and follow control and key procedures.
• Order, receive and store quality ingredients correctly using FIFO rotation, and prepare them according to recipes and plating guides while minimising waste.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of culinary experience in a five-star hotel.
• Solid international culinary experience.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Knowledge of the style of cuisine.

Required skills

• HACCP knowledge.
• General health and safety awareness in the workplace.
