Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) Manager – Secret Clearance

About the role

The Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) Manager will lead the development and continuous improvement of a behavior‑based ESH program for a global defense contractor. Working independently with minimal supervision, the manager ensures compliance with federal, local and Army regulations across contract sites.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a contract‑wide safety and health inspection, compliance and behavioral monitoring program aligned with legal and industrial standards.
• Conduct regular facility inspections, identify violations, recommend corrective actions and verify elimination of hazardous conditions.
• Apply industrial hygiene and environmental principles to anticipate, evaluate and control physical, chemical and biological hazards.
• Develop, deliver and track training programs, measure employee knowledge and maintain up‑to‑date safety records.
• Communicate safety information through posters, newsletters, meetings and written reports to senior management, supervisors and regulators.

Required profile

• Self‑starting professional able to work with little supervision.
• In‑depth knowledge of Federal, Local and Army environmental, safety and occupational health regulations.
• Experience inspecting facilities, citing violations and implementing corrective actions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain host‑nation visa and driver’s license.
