Costing Clerk

About the role

The Costing Clerk is responsible for job costing, invoicing, cash collection and daily cash reconciliation. The role ensures accurate financial records, compliance with company policies and timely processing of cash transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform costing of jobs in progress across service areas and close job cards upon completion, adhering to pricing and discount guidelines.
• Generate invoices in the system and collect cash from customers.
• Operate the cash register, deposit daily cash to treasury, bank or authorized agents, and obtain acknowledgment on fund transfer forms.
• Handle disbursements only after verifying supporting documents in line with company policy.
• Record all receipts and payments promptly, file supporting documents (invoices, job cards, receipts) in an orderly manner.
• Sort, count and wrap coins and currency, and reconcile cash on hand with the cash register daily.
• Prepare month‑end cash schedules and reconciliations on time.
• Maintain sufficient cash in the drawer and be flexible to work beyond regular hours or weekends as needed.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Commerce graduate.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in cash handling and disbursements.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting entries, reconciliations and month‑end schedules.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
