Electrician - Hotel Maintenance

About the role

Courtyard, a Marriott International brand, is hiring an electrician for its hotel in Kuwait City. The position is full time and non-management, and involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance and carrying out basic electrical and general maintenance work.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests and communicate with guests and customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines, identify and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs, and maintain maintenance inventory.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair electrical components such as lamps, switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.
• Replace electrical switches and outlets, and perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair.
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before any maintenance work and follow safety and security policies.
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties, and perform landscaping and sprinkler repairs.
• Enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting preferred; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Driver's license required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of electrical, air conditioning and refrigeration, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills.
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules.
